Abandoned Factory

12 January 07.

This is Not Fiction.

Took a walk around an abandoned factory near my house yesterday. I was slightly worried that it might be occupied but the place is so full of holes I don’t think anybody could have been staying there. That said, I did have the life scared out of me by three 12-year-old girls taking a short-cut home from school.

The place stayed in relatively good repair for years and then this happened all of a sudden. They tried to slow it be hiring a security guard for a while last year but it must not have been worth the cost.

I should really set up some kind of photo section. These are too small.

  1. I like the photo of the Hallway. It reminds me a lot of school and pretty much sums up how I feel about it too.

  2. Back in hometown, we had scads of abandoned buildings at our disposal, and because there wasn’t much else to amuse us, we would spend our weekends among wreckage similar to your photographs.

Except, we were breaking the law I’d imagine.

  3. I think you’re technically breaking the law by default when you’re in your teens. That’s how it felt anyway.

I’d have indulged in some public drinking if I’d had any on me.
